Are you feeling caught in an emotional circuit that keeps dragging you back to the same story, reactions and conclusions about yourself and your life? Do you feel limited in your ability to live from a place of authenticity, aliveness and presence that you know is possible?
If so, you are invited to learn and experience EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), an effective self-help and coaching method for wellness and personal development. EFT is about freedom from limiting emotional and physiological patterns that inhibit well-being and the vital, full expression of one's uniqueness.
As your EFT coach, I will compassionately and safely support you through the process of identifying your own goals while addressing the issues and obstacles that hold you back. At the same time you will learn this powerful tool for self-regulation and managing life’s daily stressors.
What is EFT?
Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is an innovative energy modality used for easing stress and gently releasing the emotional charge associated with troubling memories, distressing life events, and self-limiting thoughts and beliefs.
Also known as “tapping,” EFT is a form of psychological acupressure based on the same energy meridian points used in traditional acupuncture. We self tap on selected points on the hands, face and torso while saying phrases of acceptance and tuning into feelings and thoughts related to the issue we want to address.
The premise of EFT is that emotional problems are caused by a disruption in the body’s energy system. All matter and emotions are composed of energy and when this energetic movement is disturbed - through chronic patterns of physical and emotional tension, stress and trauma - there is dis-ease. The goal of EFT is to clear these disruptions, or emotional blocks, from the body's bio-energy system, restoring the mind body balance essential for optimal health.
How does it work?
Tapping increases the flow of electrical energy through the nervous system to the brain. This stimulation of acupoints involves the sending of signals to specific brain areas aroused by the spoken phrases that can have a calming effect on the brain's emotion and stress centers.
Dr. Peta Stapleton succinctly expresses it this way: “It is though we are engaging these negative feelings or sensations just long enough to feel them, then we hit the delete button through the tapping. It is the tapping process that calms the physiological response from the body. Once this is released, cognitive shifts may surface naturally.”
Working with the body and chronic physical symptoms

EFT focuses on the connections between thoughts, emotions, and physiological responses. We know that stress and trauma are stored in the body and that physical and emotional symptoms can emerge from a chronically dysregulated nervous system.
EFT aims to address contributing emotional factors in the development of an illness and support behavioral and lifestyle changes that can lead to a reduction of physical discomfort. Ultimately, EFT seeks to eliminate energetic disruption and support a resilient nervous system and mindset so the body can be its own healer.
